Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra's Concerts on the Square

The 25th season of Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra's Concerts on the Square, conducted by music director Andrew Sewell, will begin its 2008 season on June 25th with guest pianist Wendy Chen performing "Gershwin and Friends"
The concerts are performed at 7 p.m. Wednesdays through July 30th on the Capitol Square grounds.
Admission is FREE! Arrive early to get a good spot. Bring folding chairs or blankets to lay down and hold your spot while you go to a local restaurant or vendor to have dinner or bring a picnic lunch to eat on the square. You can also reserve a table to have a catered box supper meal. Call 257-0638 for more info.
Each concert costs the sponsers, benefactors and the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra about $60,000 to produce. They begin setting up around noon and tear down and clean up ends about 1am.

July 2: "Salute to America" with Young Artist Concerto Competition winner Hong-En Chen
July 9: "Sound the Trumpet" featuring trumpeter Ryan Anthony
July 16: "Songs without Words" with guest conductor Huw Edwards and Kathryn Nettleman, bass
July 23: "String Fusion" with string trio "Time for Three"
July 30: "Our Town, a 25th Anniversary Celebration" featuring mezzo soprano Kitt Foss, soprano Alli Foss, Tracy Silverman on electric violin, and Isthmus Vocal Ensemble
